Consumerism

Consumerism is one of the top problems that causes global warming. The message of this poster is that humans purchasing goods like gas and other harmful products to the environment is the problem. In this example, the consumerism of gasoline is causing negative effects on the planet. The somber undertone of the poster is a conscious choice to reflect the gravity of the subject matter. Consumerism, particularly concerning environmentally harmful products, is a complex and urgent issue. The poster, therefore, becomes a compelling call to action, urging individuals to reconsider their consumption choices and actively contribute to a sustainable future.

Process

The project process involved a strategic shift in design approach to enhance the poster's impact. Initially, the concept featured a smoky, fiery aesthetic to represent emissions, but this was deemed overly complex and distracting. Instead, I opted for a simpler, cleaner design that effectively highlighted the central message about consumerism's impact on the environment. By removing excess text, the focus shifted entirely to the imagery, allowing the visuals to convey the urgency of the issue without distraction. This streamlined approach created a more powerful and direct call to action, encouraging viewers to reflect on their consumption choices.
