Remain a Product of Reality
The poster's goal was to create an advertisement for a company of choice, where the message you create relates to the same audience the company targets. “Off-White” was the brand of choice, and this company is a designer fashion brand that targets youth designers and inspires to create a fresh mindset and keep design unique. I solved the idea of creating the message by relating back to the audience with “Remain a product of reality.” This motto became pivotal, mirroring ex-owner Virgil Abloh's legacy of free thinking. The selection process involved navigating through alternatives like "Be the creative" and "Pioneering the future," aiming for a phrase that resonated profoundly with the target audience. The poster is specifically set up like most advertisements to target the same audience they were intending to reach. The poster's deliberate visual composition, with strategically repeated models, mirrors the brand's aesthetic precision, aiming to captivate the audience in a futuristic designer ambiance.
Process
Throughout my design process, I focused on refining my concepts, ultimately narrowing my attention to the idea of the reflected man wearing glasses. I explored various iterations of posters, experimenting with different type styles, background styles, and elements to discover the most effective combinations. For the final concept, I simplified the design by reducing the number of figures from four to two, which enhanced clarity and directed the viewer's focus. Additionally, I chose to include only one Off-White logo mark instead of two, making it smaller to maintain a balanced composition. These strategic changes reflect my commitment to clarity and simplicity, resulting in a more impactful and visually cohesive poster design.
